2022 - Wareologie Year in Review
Wareologie has made significant strides in 2022. It took a village of dedicated, hands-on team members and advisors to move so quickly. We are grateful for the opportunity to improve rehabilitation access with the world’s 1st portable parallel bars on wheels.
Portable Parallel Bars performance & features were optimized and exceeded all expectations. The FDA Class 1 mobile device, was created under contract with VHA clinicians through a unique human-centered design collaboration known as the Greenhouse Initiative. The bars have been designed to serve quarantined patients and those challenged to stand in settings such as acute care, ICU, rehab facilities, and at-home to improve patient health outcomes and potentially workplace safety.
Thanks to our manufacturing partner HA Industries, LTU Centrepolis Accelerator, and our Wareologie’s team, the world’s first Portable Parallel Bars have been commercialized in 9 months and are now ready to ship!
Highlights include:
- Trade Shows– we were finally on the road demonstrating the bars to thousands of people at local and national shows including Med Health Summit, Team Fox Detroit, Home Care and Hospice Conference and Expo, American Congress for Rehabilitation Medicine
- Abstracts – Wareologie’s Jennifer Reft, PT, DPT’s presentation, “Using Tools in a New Way; Parallel Bars in the ICU” has confirmed the magnitude of the problem and desire for Wareologie’s mobile bar solution. The American Congress for Rehabilitative Medicine (ACRM) confirmed the beachhead for acute care and ICU markets. Watch the abbreviated presentation on our YouTube channel
- Featured by:
- The Disability Network of Eastern Michigan invited us to demonstrate the Portable Parallel Bars in December. Cheryl Angelelli has an incomplete spinal cord injury and stands as part of her daily exercise routine. In the video, Cheryl demonstrates standing, balancing, and walking using our Portable Parallel Bars.
- We were honored to share the article on Wareologie posted in MedHealth’s December newsletter. A Ware Above the Rest
- The Netshell by Ben Goldstein, “If you’re early in your journey as a business founder, Gina Adams’ advice could save you a lot of emotional anguish.”
In summary, developing, executing, and commercializing an FDA Class 1 device in 9 months is not for the faint of heart. Just wait and see what 2023 has in store for Wareologie.
